We host a regular trad session in Sallins on the third Friday of each month in the Railway Inn. We also host additional sessions on special occasions. There are four trad groups that play regularly in Salllins - Sult , Spraoi, Fonn Nua and our youth group, Sult Óg.

Other musicians and singers are always welcome to join in in our sessions.

The highlight of our annual calendar is the Féile na Sollán Irish traditional festival which we host every October. The festival typically includes a concert, lots of trad sessions, singing sessions, Irish trad music master classes, a céilí, a school competition, traditional workshops and special events. Amongst the Irish language events we run a PopUp Gaeltacht event, arts & crafts for children, guest speakers, a family show, and storytelling for young children. Bígí linn!

Gaeilge Imeachtaí / Events

Sult na Sollán organise special events during the course of the year. Recent events include sean nós dancing / céilí dancing workshops and family trad sessions in Sallins. As well as that, we run Irish language tours from time to time, to different places of interest in Leinster such as Brú na Bóinne/Newgrange, Co. Meath, Glasnevin Cemetery, Leinster House, Croke Park, Aviva Statium and more.

Pleanáil Teanga - Language Planning

Sult na Sollán’s Irish language committee had an leading role in the development of a five year language plan to promote the Irish language in Co. Kildare. This is an ambitious and challenging undertaking but we are already seeing the benefits as we collaborate with other groups that share an interest in the Irish language in our own area and beyond. Read all about the 2019-2023 language plan here.

New singers are always welcome - any language, any style…you will be most welcome.

The singing sessions are hosted upstairs in the Bridgewater Inn.

Seachtain na Gaeilge

Tá coiste speisialta ag Sult na Sollán i mbun féile áitiúil a eagrú do Sheachtain na Gaeilge i gceantar na Sollán/Nás na Ríogh.

Bímid ag obair le grúpaí eile sa cheantar go bhfuil spéis acu imeachtaí a eagrú. Bhí breis is fiche imeacht againn i rith Seachtain na Gaeilge 2019 agus bhí an-craic ag na daoine a ghlac páirt iontu.
